Ceilings Same as Walls

Mostly people would not really think about painting their walls and ceiling with contrast colors, as that would really make the room look bold, crispy and sharp.  If your ceilings match the color of your walls, it will make your room look more warm and cozy, at the same time giving it a more homey feeling. It is advisable to paint the rooms with lower ceilings and less surface area with the same color as the walls. These may include your staircase, bathrooms and even closets.

Even if your ceilings are higher, then too you would be recommended to paint them the same color as your walls, because again, we want your rooms to look cozy. However, if you do not want to keep them the same color as your walls, then a lighter shade would work and go with it as well.

What Color to Choose for your Ceilings?

Many people make the mistake of keeping their ceilings pure white. Sure it looks decent, but then it makes it look bland and your ceiling appears more like a background than a roof. So if you want your room to have a better impact on anyone that enters it, then keep it the same shade as your walls or a lighter shade.

Still Not Sure What Color to Choose?

If you are still not able to make up your mind on what color to go with, then this is the time you need to catch up with a consultant. Explain to them what kind of texture or what kind of an effect you are looking for, and surely they are going to walk you through it.  If you opt for a dark color that matches your walls, it will make your room look a little smaller but cozy at the same time.

A lighter shade makes your room look brighter and bigger. Now that you know how the different colors may affect your room, you are free to make your choice, however you want your room to appear. Plus it will automatically be easier for you to make your choice once you know how exactly you want your room to look like.
