How Having Grandkids Changes A Person's Life

Have you ever wondered how a person's life could change after becoming a grandparent? Here we will share how Ms.Carine Nadel's life changed after becoming a grandmother, based on her article here: http://ezinearticles.com/?How-Becoming-a-Grandparent-Changed-My-Life&id=434331
She recalls being drastically changed by becoming a grandparent only after a very short few days.
She goes on to explain how she was happy that the mother’s curse worked since she was not really fond of the idea of being called grandma until her first grandchild was born. She says that she has become a much wiser person and has gotten a newfound respect for her daughter.
When her daughter and son-in-law told her and her husband a few months prior concerning the intended birth, Ms. Nadel states that she was totally unprepared to be a grandmother. She didn’t know why, but she always pictured a person who resembles Auntie Em from the Wizard of Oz, as what a grandma ought to look like. Her grandmother did not look like that! Her mother, who was 77 at the time, refused to wear anything less than a 2" heel and has never in her 49 years baked homemade cookies and she still has more black hair than gray and has never, ever once dyed her hair. However she still thought of grandmothers as being matronly.
Ms. Nadel goes on to explain how it was with great anxiety that she took the news. Only her husband acted more "freaked out" about this next step in life than she did. She believes this is the reason why pregnancy is supposed to last for 40 weeks; so that grandparents can get used to the idea. She says “supposed” to since her mother had 3 premature babies, she herself had 2, her sister had 2 and now her own daughter just had her first. It appears that they like having their children, tiny, early and quick!
Regarding the mother's curse: She says that she has now bestowed it upon her wonderful daughter when she was around 10 years old. She states that her daughter was really being, for lack of a better word, a "pill" one day and she told her: “May you grow up and have two children just like you my love!” Her daughter then cried a river asking why she hated her so much. Ms. Nadel says that she is near to seeing the curse unfold before her eyes.
While she did not wish to be called grandma at first, looking at that little tiny bundle of joy for the first time changed her immediately. Somehow, the incubator, the heat lamps, the IV's sticking out of that poor child melted her heart. When she heard that the baby was in good enough condition to go home after 24 hours without the use of any monitors, she found herself crying in relief.
The following day when she went to her daughter's house, something felt different; it now became a real home, with a warmth it did not seem to have prior to the arrival of this boy named Dylan.
Her daughter, she says, wanted to speak about the pain and apprehension of giving birth. She could not comprehend how she would ever be able to love another baby when her heart was overwhelmed at that point in time. Ms. Nadel assured her daughter that she would soon forget the physical pain and get accustomed to the exhaustion. When it comes time, the next baby would soon fill a different part of her heart; in the same way her son did for her. Of course, the love of one’s first child is like none other, however the love of any ensuing children would be just as special, but different, just like them.
Her daughter wanted to know how she knew so much. So she told her she too would be just as worldly and knowledgeable; she just would not have that knowledge for about twenty-five years or so, when her child becomes a parent himself.
